The New York Knicks are reportedly locked in on selecting Duke small forward RJ Barrett with the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The New Orleans Pelicans will select Zion Williamson with the first pick, while all signs point toward the Memphis Grizzlies taking Murray State point guard Ja Morant with the second pick.
Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland had his workout with the Knicks today, but New York remains locked on selecting Duke’s RJ Barrett with the NBA Draft’s third overall pick on Thursday, league sources tell ESPN.

Barrett averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists at Duke this past season while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line. The talented lefty is arguably the best scorer in this year's draft class.
With Barrett in the fold, the Knicks would have a young core of Dennis Smith Jr., Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson and Barrett. New York does have cap space this summer to sign two max contract players, but it looks like Kyrie Irving is headed to the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant will miss the entire 2019-20 season rehabbing his Achilles injury.
Barrett has been pretty open about wanting to play for the Knicks. He recently said there wouldn't be any pressure playing in Madison Square Garden since basketball is the sport he's been playing his whole life.
