Reggie Bullock is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers and joining the New York Knicks on a two-year deal worth $21 million:

The Knicks spent a lot of money in the frontcourt to start free agency by nabbing Julius Randle, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis after missing out on the superstars, so getting Bullock will bring some much-needed shooting and depth on the wing.

Bullock has bounced around a bit in his NBA career, playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons and then the Lakers last season after a midseason trade. While Bullock's 3-point shooting surprisingly took a dip in Los Angeles, he's a career 39.2% shooter from deep. He even shot 44.5% from long distance with the Pistons in 2017-18.

The Lakers would have liked to keep Bullock around for his shooting prowess, but they're prioritizing the Kawhi Leonard pursuit, giving the Knicks a chance to swoop in and make a big play for the 28-year-old.

New York is trying to take a step forward next season while also sticking to short-term contracts in order to prepare for the summer of 2021. Knicks fans are going to have to continue to be patient as they attempt to return to glory, but Reggie Bullock is at least a solid wing who can really fill it up from 3-land.
