The revamped New York Knicks are showing a huge turnaround in the early stages of the 2020-21 season. They successfully dealt damage to their opponents once again as they matched up against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night with RJ Barrett and Julius Randle leading the way for the Knicks.

After the game, the Canadian swingman shed light on his budding chemistry with Randle, which has certainly been a big part of their improvement on the floor this season.

“We’ve played a year together and we’ve learned each other’s games,’’ Barrett said via the New York Post. “The more experience you get, the more you know their tendencies.”

Their familiarity with one another was evident when they both remained at the forefront of the team en route to another convincing win. After a tightly-contested first quarter between the two teams, the Knicks came out with much eagerness to pull away from their opponents in the second quarter.

New York managed to maintain a comfortable lead against Cleveland until the Cavaliers trimmed the deficit down to three at one point in the third quarter. With valiant contributions from Barrett, Randle, and even rookie Immanuel Quickley, the Knicks never looked back and eventually won on a commanding 102-81 victory.

Quickley topped the team in scoring with 25 points and five rebounds off the bench. Barrett added 24 points of his own while Randle filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Knicks. Their latest victory over the streaking Cavaliers snapped the Knicks' three-game losing skid and lifted them to a 9-11 record for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

After showing flashes of potential in the first few weeks of the season, the Knicks faithful are hoping that the team can manage to sustain their momentum all throughout their campaign. The chemistry between RJ Barrett and Julius Randle will definitely be put to test when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Jan. 31.
