The Knicks parted ways with Jeff Hornacek this season and rumors about who will replace him have ramped up in the recent weeks.
Other big names such as Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy have been rumored to be in the mix as well.
Fizdale was fired by the Grizzlies after a 7-12 start to this season. He led them to a 43-39 record in 2016-17.
Before that Fizdale was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat from 2008-2016.
The Knicks had another tough season this year highlighted mostly by the season-ending knee injury to Kristaps Porzingis. They had no chance at all of making the playoffs after that.
Many people felt the Fizdale firing with Memphis was unjust as the team was also dealing with a lot of injuries outside of his control. He is well respected in NBA inner circles and Knicks fans could therefore get behind this hiring if it ever does go down.
