Only two weeks ago, Jordan Edwards, an unarmed black teenager, was shot in the back of the head by a police officer in Batch Springs, Texas. He was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the nearest hospital.
The officer who shot him has since been fired and charged with murder. Yet again another black citizen is dead, adding to the long list of victims of police shootings across the country.
This particular situation caught the eye of Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant, who was moved by this story and lent his support to the family. He opted to send Jordan's brother, Kevon, a signed Lakers jersey and a couple pairs of sneakers. Kevon was in the car at the time of the shooting.

Bryant has been very active when it comes to social justice, being the main cog behind the “I Can't Breathe” black shirt movement in the NBA after the death of Eric Garner. He was also an outspoken figure after Trayvon Martin's shooting.
Now a full-fledged entrepreneur, Bryant is doing the most to make an impact in the community, going as far as leading a summit to bring peace between police and the Black Lives Matter movement in his adopted homeland of Los Angeles.
