The Seattle Kraken has had a busy offseason as the franchise is doing everything possible to formulate a competitive roster. It should be a fun season with a ton of new faces on the team. On Friday, the organization made another big move with the Columbus Blue Jackets to acquire Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Seattle provides a trade breakdown of the deal. The Kraken send a 2023 third-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round pick to the Blue Jackets in exchange for Oliver Bjorkstrand. With another big offseason move, this franchise has once again improved its offense.

In 80 games played, Bjorkstrand recorded an impressive statline of 28 goals and 29 assists. His 57 points in the 2021 season made him a solid contributor for Columbus. Now, he brings those talents to Seattle which should only help the Kraken improve for the upcoming season.

The front office has nailed this offseason. After a rough first year, the organization has vastly improved the roster through the draft, free agency, and trades. With a nice mix of exciting prospects and legitimate veterans, the Kraken are well on their way to becoming a contender. As long as these guys mesh well, we should witness a fantastic season for Seattle.

It'll be interesting to see how Oliver Bjorkstrand fits into the rotation. Jared McCann leads the way on the offensive end and Matty Beniers aims to have a starting job as well. After selecting Shane Wright fourth overall, it looks like the Kraken will have Bjorkstrand fill in until Wright is ready for the big leagues.
