Before he joined the Golden State Warriors back in 2016, JaVale McGee had this reputation of being a goofy player on the court who really didn’t know how to play basketball. In fact, the current Los Angeles Lakers center was the star of Shaquille O’Neal’s show “Shaqtin’ A Fool” back then.

Every week, Shaquille O'Neal made fun of McGee when he would do something mindless and funny on the floor. It took a toll on McGee and his love for the game was affected.

McGee won two championships with the Warriors and played a key role for the team. He gave Golden State something they didn’t have: a rim protector who was also a high-flyer on the offensive end.

McGee’s numbers with the Warriors won’t jump off the page, but if you watched the games, you could see right away the impact he had on the defensive end of the floor and in the pick-and-roll game.

As a result, his reputation around the league got better and he appeared less and less on Shaq's show. Now on the Lakers playing alongside LeBron James, McGee says he and Shaquille O’Neal don't have a deep beef. Moreover, he said there's nothing to resolve with the Hall of Famer.

JaVale McGee signed a one-year deal with the Lakers over the summer. The 30-year-old is averaging 12.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 62.1 percent from the field.
