Josh Hart proved to be a major revelation for the Los Angeles Lakers last year. While many see him as a young gun still trying to make a name in the league, a scout actually sees the 6-foot-5 shooting guard as the Lakers' glue guy.

Sports Illustrated interviewed league scouts regarding how they think each team will fare this season. Hart's name was mentioned in the Lakers' team analysis, as an anonymous scout raved over his potential to be a valuable player for the team.

“I think Josh Hart is the guy who will wind up holding their different units together. He’s got so much flexibility and versatility, he can guard multiple positions and shoot it. I see him closing playoff games too. In a must-win game, he can guard one of the better perimeter players on the other team and knock down shots.”

Selected 30th during the 2017 Draft, the Villanova product almost stole the light from more heralded Lakers rookies in Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball. He quickly established himself as a two-way threat for the league and even showed glimpses of a player much capable of taking over games.

As much as defense wins games, it also wins a player more minutes on the court. Entering his maiden season in the league, Hart already had an NBA-ready body, an advantage that helped him lock down opposing scorers and give him enough strength to penetrate defenses and finish around the rim.

May he be the Lakers' starting shooting guard or come off the bench to back-up Kentavius Caldwell-Pope, Hart's versatility on both ends of the floor will be pivotal for the success of the new-look Lakeshow.
