Anthony Davis was among many Los Angeles Lakers players happy to see franchise icon Kobe Bryant courtside for Sunday's 122-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The new star in town met one of the perennial ones in The City of Angels, a star that shined bright even as he looked on for all four quarters, seeing his former team enjoy a winning season for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign, one he shared with Dwight Howard.

“It was great,” said Davis after the game, according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints. “Obviously, he's a legend here & he's been someone who I've been able to watch for a long time.”

“I got a chance to learn from him. He's been a guy who has always been in my ear throughout my career, and to see him come here and watch us play was great tonight.”

Davis has been in touch with Bryant since their time together as members of Team USA. Then a rookie, Davis soaked in tips from The Black Mamba himself from the early days of his NBA career, learning what it takes to win gold in the London 2012 Olympics, as well as the work ethic required to shine in the NBA.

Bryant has illuminated many NBA stars, ranging from Davis to Isaiah Thomas, Devin Booker, and Markelle Fultz. His thirst for knowledge is one of the first traits he manages to inculcate to those who seek advice from him, and Davis has been no exception to that.
