It hasn't been a few hours since the Los Angeles Lakers lifted the Larry O'Brien trophy and Anthony Davis already saw himself answering questions about his future with the franchise.

Davis pretty much aced his debut season for the Purple and Gold, and after Sunday's huge win over the Miami Heat, he was put on the spot and was asked about his outlook on his impending free agency.

“I have no idea,” Anthony Davis said, per Mark Medina of USA Today. “I had a great time in LA this year. It's been nothing but joy and amazement. Over the next couple of months, we'll figure it out. I'm not 100% sure.”

After being traded from the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 offseason, Davis declined a four-year offer from the Lakers earlier this 2020 and opted to enter the free agency. Davis has a player option valued at $28.7 million if he does opt for it, but clearly, his value is worth a few millions more.

AD now has a chance to re-sign with an even bigger contract. Given that there will be a ton of financial hurdles in the entire league after an unprecedented 2019-2020 NBA season, it's definitely smart for the 27-year old to not get too excited and look for the best possible deal out there.

At this point, it's rather unthinkable that Davis will opt out of his contract with the Lakers and move on to his third NBA team. Surely, AD alluding to possibly “figuring out” his free agency situation probably just means that he'll be restructuring a new contract with the reigning NBA champions.
