Los Angeles Lakers starting small forward Brandon Ingram, who is dealing with a sprained left ankle, will be re-evaluated by team doctors this Saturday.

Brandon Ingram suffered the injury against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 5 at home and has been out ever since. The Lakers said Ingram would most likely miss one to two weeks.

Brandon Ingram has missed the Lakers' last three games. The 21-year-old is averaging 15.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this year while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 62.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Josh Hart has been starting in Ingram's place while the former No. 2 overall pick recovers from the ankle injury. The Lakers have gone 2-1 in the three games Ingram has missed so far. They have beaten the Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

The Lakers are 17-10 on the season, fifth place in the rugged Western Conference. Brandon Ingram is the third-leading scorer on the team, trailing LeBron James (28.3) and Kyle Kuzma (17.9). There's no reason to rush Ingram back into the lineup since the team is playing well and there are so many games left in the season. Until his ankle is 100 percent, Ingram shouldn't return to game action.
