It's a rough day for the entire sporting world as Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was tragically killed in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people. The sudden news left a lot of people stunned, and that includes stars from other sports.

Football players were quick to give out their tributes to the Black Mamba as well. One of the players who gave their tributes was NFL legend Brett Favre.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback gave his condolences and dedication to Bryant through Twitter. It wasn't long and frivolous like the other tributes, but one can easily feel the well-meant intentions behind the tweet.

His untimely death hit the basketball world the hardest, but that doesn't mean that his legacy didn't make its way over to the NFL. The biggest thing about Kobe that many NFL players adapted to their own games was Mamba Mentality: the ability to step up and make no excuses for themselves. Through this movement he set in motion, he helped football stars become better performers in a results-oriented environment like the NFL.

“Man, Kobe’s impact transcends the game of basketball. It transcends life,” New Orleans Saints All-Pro linebacker Demario Davis told USA TODAY Sports. “Mamba mentality is more of an approach than anything else. It’s about attacking what’s in front of you with passion and purpose, without fear and doubt and without an ounce of quit. No matter what it is, good/bad; success/failure that’s your approach. That’s what it means to have Mamba mentality. That’s what I learned from him.”

Kobe Bean Bryant was 41 years old when he lost his life. He was an accomplished basketball player, winning five NBA championships, two Finals MVP honors, one regular season MVP award, 18 All-Star appearances, and is ranked fourth all-time in scoring. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest athletes to ever play the game of basketball.
