Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady knows a thing or two about seemingly outlasting Father Time. The six-time Super Bowl champion gave a shoutout to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James after the 35-year-old captured his fourth NBA title on Sunday night against the Miami Heat.

Brady even found a way to poke fun at himself, photoshopping James' face over the image of Brady apparently forgetting the downs late in Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears:

Fittingly, Tom Brady and LeBron James' excellence well into the latter years of their careers is what makes them arguably the greatest players in their respective sports.

Brady anchored multiple dynasties with the New England Patriots. James has made the NBA Finals in nine of the last 10 years, capturing four titles in the process.

But while some have begun to question Brady's abilities as a quarterback, James continues to prove he can play at an elite NBA level at the age of 35.

LeBron captured Finals MVP honors after averaging 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists for the series. James shot 59.1 percent from the field and even shot close to 46 percent from beyond the arc on an even 6.0 attempts per game, unleashing his full offensive arsenal in guiding the Lakers to their first title since 2010.

It was a vintage Finals performance from a man who continues to be at his best on the game's brightest stage.

Brady has always had respect for his peers in other sports, especially those as committed to winning as James.

LeBron might be aging, but — like Brady — he stays winning.
