With the acquisition of Anthony Davis, the Los Angles Lakers immediately became one of the NBA favorites to capture the 2019-20 championship. After rounding out their roster with names like DeMarcus Cousins, Danny Green, and Avery Bradley, among others, the team has huge expectations leading into the regular season.

Because of this, new head coach Frank Vogel will have his every move analyzed from the opening night tip-off. On “First Things First,” FS1 analyst Cris Carter claimed that Vogel will be on the hot seat the entire season:

Honestly, it's rare for a Lakers coach to not be on the hot seat these days. Since Phil Jackson left the team in 2011, the Lakers have had six different head coaches in the last eight years. The last five coaches before Vogel had little to no success coaching the team, and the Lakers last made the playoffs six years ago.

The former Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic coach will be looking to turn these fortunes around. He brings a nice resume to the table, leading his team to the playoffs five times in eight years of coaching. The Pacers reached the Eastern Conference Finals twice in a row under Vogel, but his team was knocked out by the LeBron James-led Miami Heat both times. Overall, Vogel's coaching record stands at 304-291.

The Lakers will not stand for mediocrity this season. If at any point the team faces a serious down period, Vogel could get the ax.
