Veteran shooting guard Danny Green knows role players must step up for the Los Angeles Lakers to win in the playoffs this season.

The Lakers have two of the best players in the game in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Green, though, says teams win in the postseason when their supporting cast players play at a high-level.

“Obviously superstars are going to do what they do. But most teams win playoff games when role players step up,” Green said, via USA TODAY Sports. “That usually determines how far you will go and how much you’re going to win, when role players step up and play good basketball. Those are the usually the teams that win and is the last one standing.”

The Lakers know what they're going to get from LeBron and Davis on a nightly basis. It's guys like Green, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, Kyle Kuzma, JaVale McGee, Avery Bradley, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jared Dudley who have to show up once the playoffs start and play sound basketball on both sides of the floor.

Green has championship experience, so the Lakers can count on him to play well in the postseason. The two-time champion will stretch the floor well for LA and play stout defense when it matters.
