As per usual, the Los Angeles Lakers were mentioned in trade rumors numerous times over the past few months or so with Kyle Kuzma at the center of it all.

Despite all the speculation, the Lakers kept their team intact as the buzzer sounded on the NBA trade deadline. However, it appears a free-agent signing may be on the horizon for Los Angeles with Darren Collison seen at the Staples Center on Thursday night. The UCLA product was first seen behind the scenes speaking with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and senior basketball adviser, Kurt Rambis.

Not long after the first sighting of Collison near the press room at Staples Center while the Lakers face the Houston Rockets, the veteran guard was seen sitting near Buss and Linda Rambis in the front row. This ramps up the speculation of Collison coming out of retirement to join this Lakers squad.

With the Lakers currently sporting a full roster, the team would have to make a move to bring in Collison. The team is clearly interested in Collison and may have offered him a contract tonight, but earlier today, former Laker Matt Barnes said he was texting with his fellow UCLA alumnus and said he's 50/50 on his return to the NBA.

After tonight, it'll be up to Collison to make a decision on his future, which has been rumored to be made after the upcoming NBA All-Star break. The L.A. Clippers are expected to be very much in the hunt for Collison's services, putting the pressure on the Lakers to get this done sooner rather than later.
