DeMarcus Cousins might turn into a huge signing for the Los Angeles Lakers because the All-Star center believes that he is ready to play all 82 games in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Cousins told reporters during a news conference that the quad injury he sustained during the 2019 NBA Playoffs is now a thing of the past. He is very confident that health will not be an issue for him in his upcoming stint with the Lakers, saying that he is becoming stronger and getting into better shape several weeks before training camp.

The Lakers did not need much to sign Cousins, who agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.5 million, which is considered low for a player with a resume like the 28-year-old center. The former Kentucky standout is a four-time NBA All-Star, and a two-time All-NBA second team awardee.

His career just took a hit during the 2017-18 NBA season, when he sustained a ruptured Achilles while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans. While he was expected to sit out of several months following a major surgery, he secured a one-year deal from the Golden State Warriors last season.

In 30 regular season games, he averaged 16.3 points on a career-high 48.0 shooting from the field to go along with 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

He hurt his quad two games into the playoffs, but he managed to return in the finals, where he averaged 8.3 points and 4.7 rebounds.
