There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers possess one of the most talent-packed rosters in the entire NBA heading into the 2021-22 season. Nevertheless, despite the fact that they have some of the biggest names in the league on their squad, success in the upcoming campaign is anything but guaranteed.

This is a completely new-look Lakers side and chemistry between its multitude of stars is potentially going to be an issue. Veteran big man Dwight Howard has opened up about how he believes LA intends to tackle this hurdle ahead of what is going to be a championship-or-bust season (h/t #Lakers Hoops on Twitter):

“Bruh, we’ve been playing AAU and basketball our whole life,” said the Lakers big man. “We’re trying to win. Ain’t no egos. Ain’t nobody going out there by themselves.”

It is clear that Howard believes that egos won't be getting in the way for the Lakers this coming season. There are a handful of alphas on the squad who will be playing with each other for the first time in their careers, and while it is very much possible that everything falls into place, we also cannot discount the possibility of complete chaos within their ranks.

Howard is having none of it, though. The eight-time All-Star knows the role he has to play for the Lakers and he firmly believes everyone else on the squad has a similar mindset.
