Los Angeles Lakers big man Dwight Howard was reportedly involved in a postgame verbal altercation with some members of the Denver Nuggets' coaching staff following the Lakers' huge Game 2 win on Sunday.

Sam Amick of The Athletic reports that Howard actually broke off the Lakers' celebrations following Anthony Davis' game-winner, with the veteran big man opting to taunt the Nuggets:

“Go home!” he yelled over and over while laughing, jumping, pumping his fist and getting closer to the Nuggets’ side of the floor with every second. “Go home!”

A small group of Nuggets staffers, including one of Jokic’s biggest supporters in assistant strength and conditioning coach Felipe Eichenberger, did not take kindly to the mocking that had taken place all game long and returned to the court to shout back. The two sides exchanged words, and eventually retreated to their corners that came with conflicting emotions.

The Lakers center made sure to rub some salt into the wounds of the Nuggets just moments after they lost in the most heart-breaking manner. Davis and his amazing buzzer-beating triple saw to that, but it was Howard who made sure to add insult to injury.

Howard does have a bit of a point here, though. Not to egg on his savage trash talking, but the Nuggets might actually be well on their way home here. They put up quite a fight in Game 2, as they went on a furious run in the fourth quarter to erase the Lakers' lead late in the game. It was all for nothing, though, and Denver now finds itself in another hole in the bubble. This one will be even more difficult to crawl out of after the Nuggets erased 3-1 deficits in each of the last two series, with the Lakers a whole different beast.
