What a time to be an NBA fan these days. There's no lack of jaw-dropping performances recently from the league's biggest stars. Just a few hours after Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns dropped a career-high 60 points, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving matched the feat on Tuesday.

Of course, they are coming off the heels of the recent 50-point assaults of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who's showing that Year 19 might just as well be his rookie year.

One fan on Twitter joked that after The King's two 50-point outings in three games, Irving showed his former partner in crime that he can do it better. And quite unsurprisingly, their ex-teammate Channing Frye couldn't help but respond with a rather hilarious GIF.

LeBron, Irving, and Frye won a championship together with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. To this day, all of them have maintained a tight relationship, with the fun-loving Frye regularly trolling his former teammates.

Still, even though he meant it as a joke, there's probably a grain of truth in Frye's awesome choice of GIF. It's no secret that LeBron and Irving didn't always see eye to eye during their stint with the Cavaliers, prompting the Nets guard to bolt in 2017. LBJ went to the Lakers a year later.

Incidentally, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving have found themselves somehow facing the same fate this season, as both the Lakers and Nets are struggling ahead of the NBA Playoffs despite being tagged as heavy favorites before the campaign started, with all the drama and issues surrounding them.

And safe to assume, Frye is loving it.
