The patience of Los Angeles Lakers fans is wearing thin. Marred with inconsistency and lackluster effort all season long, purple and gold loyalists are forced to endure another underwhelming campaign. Among Los Angeles' players, Russell Westbrook has oftentimes become the target of irritated fans, and the Lakers' game against the Dallas Mavericks was no different.

According to NBA.com writer Mark Medina, someone inside Crypto.com Arena took a blatantly-loaded shot at Westbrook while praising a fan who joined an in-game contest.

A young fan made a few jumpers during an in-game promo. As he walked off the court, a Laker fan yelled out, “You're better than Russ!”

The Lakers treated their fans to a rollercoaster ride against the Mavs. After a poor first-half performance, the home team clawed its way back to finish the third quarter with the lead. The Lakers kept their heads above water in the fourth quarter until Luka Doncic's takeover. The Mavs regained the lead at the five-minute mark of the contest and never looked back.

Westbrook finished the game with 12 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. He shot the ball at an atrocious clip, missing 12 of his 17 shots. He didn't commit a single turnover, though. However, it only addresses an item on the Lakers' laundry list of concerns.

Just the other night, LeBron James, Trevor Ariza, and—wait for it—Russell Westbrook were caught barking back at fans on separate instances. Things are getting uglier for the Lakers as they've only managed to win three of their last 13 games.
