Looks like Los Angeles Lakers fans aren't going to forgive Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Paul George for spurning them in free agency anytime soon.
When he was introduced in the starting lineups at Staples Center on Wednesday, Paul George was booed by the entire crowd, a stark difference from what occurred last season.
George was cheered very loudly last year at Staples Center.
For the past few seasons, pretty much everyone in the league assumed Paul George was going to sign with the Lakers in the summer of 2018. George grew up in California and reportedly told the Indiana Pacers in 2017 he was going to sign with LA. That's why the Pacers traded George because they didn't want to lose the All-Star swingman for nothing.
The Thunder lost to the Utah Jazz in the first round of the 2018 playoffs in six games. Many surmised Paul George was going to bolt OKC after one season and join LeBron James with the Lakers since the Thunder didn't meet expectations.
It didn't happen, though, as PG13 re-signed with the Thunder on a four-year max deal. The fans in Los Angeles aren't happy that one of the best players in the league didn't sign with them, and they are letting Paul George hear it on Wednesday.
