Deandre Ayton has been a revelation in these NBA playoffs. The big man has reached a gear for the title-contending Phoenix Suns that he's never displayed consistently throughout his first three seasons. But it appears that at least one voice thinks he's still being held back – former Los Angeles Lakers center Mychal Thompson.

The former Lakers big man feels that the Ayton must be featured better within the Suns offense. Thompson expressed his opinion in a lengthy Twitter post.

“The Sun is a Star, right?Well,Phoenix;stop treatin Ayton like a White Dwarf wen yall got a Hypergiant in the CENTER of yalls Universe…9 SHOTS? NINE? If yall dont get Ayton 18 shots tomorow yalls Finals hopes might BLOW UP like a Supernova”

Mychal Thompson would know first-hand how dominant a center can be given that he played two and a half years with arguably the greatest big man of all-time in Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Although the game has drastically shifted, Thompson still does have a point.

The Los Angeles Clippers were playing without starting center Ivica Zubac, and had just a depleted version of DeMarcus Cousins as their lone true big man. Although the Clips definitely deserve some credit for playing Ayton tough, the Suns must emphasize putting their center in the right spots and situations to succeed.
