The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second straight game of the season on Friday in a disappointing defeat to the Phoenix Suns. LA's struggles on the evening were overshadowed (or perhaps even more emphasized) by a sideline blow-up between teammates Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard. It was definitely an intense moment and Lakers coach Frank Vogel has now spoken out about what exactly caused the heated confrontation between the pair.

According to the Lakers shot-caller, the issue all started on a misunderstanding on the defensive end:

“Dwight and AD had a miss queue on a coverage and they talked it out, but you know, when you're getting your a** kicked, sometimes conversations get heated,” Vogel said, via Brenna White of FanNation.

The Lakers' struggles have spilled over from the preseason where they went an embarrassing 0-6. They have now lost eight consecutive contests, and as Vogel said, it's quite understandable that his players are on edge.

Nevertheless, the Lakers coach made it abundantly clear that Davis and Howard were immediately able to settle the issue and that there is no bad blood lingering between them:

“Those guys love each other, they talked it out and that's something that is going to happen time from time,” Vogel said. “I'd rather our guys care than not care.”

Both Davis and Howard have also stated that they've put their spat behind them. This all appears to be water under the bridge now, and hopefully, this sparks some sort of fire for a struggling Lakers side.
