Right after Kobe Bryant's untimely demise in January, the Los Angeles Lakers organization decided to dedicate this year and the following seasons to the Black Mamba's memory. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel shared one specific way his team honors Bryant during practice.

Per Harrison Faigen of SB Nation, Vogel shared that they honor Kobe during team huddles.

“Kobe is with us on our whole journey this year. We say ‘Mamba on three' every day in practice, every time we're together, and we'll continue to try to represent what he stood for and honor his memory.”

Below is a clip of Vogel addressing his team after booting out the Houston Rockets to move on to the Western Conference Finals. After highlighting the specific milestones that the team achieved, Vogel ended the round-up by saying “Mamba on three.”

This is the Lakers' first time back in the Western Conference Finals since the 2009-10 season. To recall, this was the year that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers went all the way to the NBA Finals. They beat the Boston Celtics in seven games — completing the back-to-back and also giving Bryant his fifth title ring.

Apart from saying “Mamba on three,” the Lakers have also donned the Black Mamba city edition jerseys in the playoffs. On the upper right is a patch dedicated to Bryant's daughter Gianna, who also perished in the crash. LeBron James — who got a Black Mamba tattoo on his thigh days after Bryant's demise — has been wearing a finger strap with “24” stitched on it.
