Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel remained confident that they can dust off their Game 5 loss in the NBA Finals and bounce back. They had several chances to steal the win from the Miami Heat, but they just couldn't get the job done.

But while he admitted it was a tough loss to swallow, especially when they were just a few breaks away from winning the title, he also called out the referees in his postgame press conference. He said there were two bad calls late in the game that put Heat forward Jimmy Butler to the charity stripe.

In one of those calls, Vogel felt Anthony Davis had the perfect verticality to challenge Butler's layup with only 16.8 eight seconds left in the game. But the Lakers' All-Star big man was whistled for a foul. Butler calmly drained the two free throws to give them a one-point lead, 109-108.

Prior to that, it was Markieff Morris who was called for a foul when Butler drove strong to the lane. The 47-year-old Vogel, who is in his first-ever NBA Finals stint, felt Morris had his hand on the ball. Butler also sank both of his free throws.

The Lakers and the Heat almost shot identically from the free-throw line, with 21 and 22 attempts, respectively. The foul calls were also close to similar, with the Purple and Gold registering 21, just two more compared to the boys from South Beach.

Still, Vogel said he was disappointed with the officiating in the closing moments. But he added they should do a better job for 48 minutes in Game 6 on Monday night.
