Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel thinks small forward Kyle Kuzma is “going to be an ass kicker for us this year.”

Kuzma was the only youngster on the Lakers who survived the Anthony Davis trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, as Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart were all sent to New Orleans.

Los Angeles is hoping Kuzma will be the third-leading scorer on the Lakers behind LeBron James and Davis this upcoming season.

“Kuzma is a 10 out of 10 attitude and worker, and just a guy that’s going to be an ass kicker for us this year,” Vogel told Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.

Last season, Kyle Kuzma averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Kuzma has shown in his first two seasons in the NBA he can be a 20-point scorer. Now, the 24-year-old just has to be more consistent and efficient.

Ideally, the Lakers would like Kuzma to shoot around 35 percent from the 3-point line. LeBron and AD are going to command so much attention when they put their heads down and drive to the basket. Kuzma and the rest of the Lakers have to be ready to knock down open shots from the perimeter.
