Ivica Zubac played his heart out against the Oklahoma City Thunder, leading to a career night and a win for the Los Angeles Lakers. As such, superstar teammate LeBron James could not hold back his excitement over Zubac's milestone.

The young big man out of Croatia scored a career-high 26 points while grabbing 12 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. Furthermore, Ivica Zubac did all these against arguably the NBA's strongest person in the Thunder's Steven Adams.

More importantly, the Lakers managed to eke out a win despite needing an extra session on the road. Much has been said of the team's young core as the absence of veterans LeBron James and Rajon Rondo left a wide leadership gap that the team has struggled to fill in.

Thursday night is an exception, though. Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma delivered big-time performances for the purple and gold, scoring 18 and 32 points, respectively. Ball did more damage by virtue of his six rebounds and 10 assists.

Josh Hart was all business too as he ended the night with 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

It remains unclear when James will return to the court and lead Los Angeles in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race. But seeing his young teammates perform this way must be highly encouraging for the grizzled veteran.
