Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss seems to have agreed on a report where it was mentioned that Magic Johnson would decide to fire Luke Walton and Rob Pelinka if he gets another chance to run the Lakers.

Johnson recently appeared on SportsCenter and discussed the latest issue surrounding him and the Lakers. During the segment, he opened up about what he would have done differently as team president, to which he responded that he would have hired his own people.

Johnson said that he did not get the chance to hire everybody that he wanted. He pointed out that he had no hands in selecting Rob Pelinka as general manager because the ownership group hired them together. When he took over in Los Angeles, Walton was already the coach after he was hired by former GM Mitch Kupchak to replace Byron Scott.

The Lakers legend failed to help the Lakers end their playoff drought during his tenure as president. He abruptly stepped down from his post, saying that he is no longer happy with the position. He added that he will remain supportive of the Lakers and Jeanie Buss.

However, several weeks later, he revealed that he did not like getting backstabbed by Pelinka. He said that Pelinka has been questioning his commitment to the Lakers, and he also did not get the decision-making power he was promised. His statement further revealed more details about the dysfunction inside the organization.
