In their Game 4 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, JR Smith of the Los Angeles Lakers tied the late great Kobe Bryant on the all-time list for playoff 3-pointers.

Smith knocked down his 292nd 3-pointer in the game, tying Bryant's tally. Ahead of the showdown with the Blazers, Smith was full of praises for Kobe as he spoke his admiration for the NBA legend.

Below is the record-tying 3-pointer by Smith. It was his only field goal in 17 minutes of action. From the looks of it, the entire Lakers squad were aware that JR was about to reach a milestone.

Amid his struggles, Cook kept on feeding him the ball. Fortunately, Smith finally knocked one down to end his cold streak and forge his name alongside Bryant.

With the way things are trending, JR Smith will likely pass Kobe Bryant. As of this writing though, both players are in the ninth spot in the NBA all-time list for postseason 3-pointers. Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors holds the number one spot with 470, followed by Ray Allen (385), LeBron James (379), Klay Thompson (374), Manu Ginobili (324), Reggie Miller (320), Kevin Durant (304) and  James Harden who has (295).

Smith, who was signed by the Lakers for the restart after Avery Bradley opted out of the Orlando bubble, has tons of playoff experience under his belt. As a member of the Denver Nuggets early in his career, he already established himself as a knockdown shooter from deep. The same is true during his time with the New York Knicks.

However, it was Smith's stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he was the most productive. It included four straight NBA Finals appearances which resulted in one title.
