Tributes for Los Angeles Lakers legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant during his jersey numbers retirement on Monday came in different forms. For one Lakers and Kobe superfan, it’s literally his physical form that served as his way of honoring the Black Mamba.
Chris Huerta had weight issues just over a year ago, but after watching Kobe drop 60 points in a win at Staples Center over the Utah Jazz in his final NBA game, he embarked on an amazing physical transformation. Since then, he has dropped 170 pounds.
Just take a look at this:
Down 170 lbs since @kobebryant 's last game. Took it one day at time with that #MambaMentality. Happy #Ko8be24 !! #KobeWeek #KobeBryant #Ko8e24ِ #LakeShow @Lakers @JeanieBuss @geeter3 @LAIreland @ @ramonashelburne @LakersReporter #bestever pic.twitter.com/FeW0245MjC

Huerta’s tweet spread like wildfire online, garnering close to 5,200 retweets and over 27,000 likes. Hopefully, his story will also serve as inspiration for other people out there in need of motivation to live a healthier lifestyle.
Taking into his heart Kobe Bryant’s slogan of “Mamba Mentality,” Huerta pushed himself daily in hopes of shedding as many pounds as possible. The results are amazing, and it doesn’t seem he’s stopping anytime soon.
I've never been committed to anything. I always quit because I always told myself "I can't do this."
So,here we are 80 weeks later. Looking forward to the new year to set some new goals.

Apart from his basketball accomplishments and scoring barrages, Kobe Bryant will also be forever known for his fiery competitiveness, and his burning desire to achieve his goals clearly inspired Huerta to burn all those fats he’s lost. It would've been nicer, though, if he documented the exact time in which he had lost 81 pounds.
