A few minutes after sending out a tweet praising LeBron James' Game 7 performance, Kobe Bryant had another one prepared to discuss the GOAT debate that seems to come up after every Cavaliers game these playoffs.

Kobe provided a positive take on the question, saying that he would like others to appreciate the performances of all the greats like LeBron, Michael Jordan and himself instead of focusing so much on the comparison.

What is of course interesting here is Kobe putting himself in the conversation when everyone else isn't necessarily doing so, typically comparing LeBron to Jordan. But Kobe probably deserves a place in the debate as well.

One thing that most can agree on is Kobe calling for the appreciation of all three of the legends instead of trying to tear the players down. It is true also that defining who is the GOAT and the criteria needed to qualify is subjective to a large extent and therefore, in a way, impossible.

LeBron has the advantage of still playing and every step of the way he continues to build on his already impressive resume. What he does in the upcoming NBA Finals against either the Rockets or Warriors will go a long way in adding to his legacy.
