Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is making his first start of the season count, as he erupted in the first half of their Sunday night game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kuz got the starting nod after Anthony Davis suffered a calf contusion and sat out their third game of the season. The 25-year-old was a man possessed in the first 24 minutes of play after he exploded for 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, 4-of-6 from deep, three rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 17 starting minutes.

Kyle Kuzma was all-business right from the get-go and was clearly eager to make a splash as a first-time starter for Frank Vogel this season.

In the first half of play against the Wolves, Kuzma was already able to notch his season-high in points and 3-pointers made.

With the Lakers managing Davis' load and minutes through the course of this shortened season, look for Kuzma to slide in the starting lineup from time to time. Hopefully for the defending champs, he heats up like this every single time.

The fourth-year Lakers forward has been one of the biggest question marks for the Purple and Gold heading into the new season. There was a lot of shade thrown at him and the front office after they signed Kuzma to a three-year deal worth $40 million. Now, Kuz is looking to silence all the doubters and let his play do the talking.
