Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma believes they got a little payback on Sunday night when they scored a 121-114 win over the Sacramento Kings at the Staples Center.

The memory of their recent defeat is still fresh on Kuzma's mind. The young forward almost led the Lakers to a huge win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. He knocked down big shots down the stretch, but Kings forward Bogdan Bogdanovic made a game-winning triple to escape with a 117-116 over the Lakers.

The Kings looked headed to another victory over their state rival after building a 110-103 lead with 4:30 left to play. However, the Lakers outscored the Kings, 18-4, down the stretch, including a 12-0 run that gave them the momentum en route to the come-from-behind win.

Kuzma finished with 18 points on top of nine rebounds and six assists. The 23-year-old said that they successfully got the job done, avenging their tough defeat at the hands of the Kings last week.

“Definitely a little payback,” Kuzma said via Ryan Ward. “We thought we played well enough to get a win there, but we didn't. We had an opportunity to win the other night and didn't, so tonight was kind of a must-win. We got the job done.”

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Lakers in scoring with 26 points, highlighted by five three-pointers. Josh Hart added 22 points and seven rebounds, while Brandon Ingram finished with 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Ingram also made huge plays during their rally late in the fourth quarter.

With the win, the Lakers improved to 21-16 to remain sixth in the Western Conference standings. Los Angeles played without injured superstar LeBron James, and veteran playmaker Rajon Rondo for the third consecutive game.
