There's no denying that the Los Angeles Lakers are in a tough spot right now. Injuries to their stars have led to this team slipping down in the standings out West. However, in the mind of the great Charles Barkley, it's only a matter of time before a full-strength LA side starts dominating the league again.

Barkley shared his thoughts on how new recruit Andre Drummond could look like once he plays alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis (h/t NBA on TNT on Twitter):

I see no lies here. Drummond is an excellent addition by the defending champs, and he only bolsters their position as the favorites to come out of the West. As Sir Charles points out, Drummond will be a true asset for the Lakers on both ends of the floor once LeBron and AD return to action — whenever that may be.

Drummond, who recently missed three games due to a toe injury, will be a force for LA if and when they face off against the likes of Nikola Jokic, Rudy Gobert, and even Deandre Ayton in the playoffs– and perhaps eventually, against LaMarcus Aldridge and the Brooklyn Nets in the Finals.

It's hard to deny that the Lakers have one of the most formidable lineups in the NBA right now. Injuries have been a real problem for LA, though, but with both LeBron and AD looking to return within the next couple of weeks, it could be the case of the Lakers peaking at just the right time.
