Most NBA players start showing signs of slowing down in their early- to mid-30s. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is not most players. At the age of 34, James is in the midst of one of the most productive seasons of his career. While he may not have the same jaw-dropping athleticism as he once had, James is still unquestionably one of, if not the best player in the world.

Proving James' worth is ESPN's Real Plus-Minus (RPM) statistics for the 2019-20 season thus far. RPM is calculated by looking at a player's average impact in terms of net point differential per 100 offensive and defensive possessions.

With the seasons that players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Luka Dončič are having, it may be shocking that in his 17th year, James is not only leading the NBA in RPM but dominating as well.

Through 24 games, James has posted a Real Plus-Minus of +9.70 — far above Harden and Antetokounmpo who rank second and third with +6.73 and +6.72 ratings, respectively.

James' Lakers are sitting at the top of the NBA standings so far with a 21-3 record. They hold the top record in the Western Conference and tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for the best in the entire league.

A big part of the team's success is the superb play of offseason acquisition Anthony Davis. However, despite being 34, James is still as dominant as ever and has been averaging 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and a league-leading 10.8 assists while shooting over 50 percent from the field and 36.4 percent on six three-point attempts per game
