LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers need every help they can get amid their recent free-fall, and while the hopes were they'd be getting back Kendrick Nunn soon, that doesn't seem to be the case now.

Nunn is one of the Lakers' key offseason signings, but he has yet to play for the Purple and Gold as he recovers from a bone bruise in his right knee. However, it has been reported earlier that the team has high hopes they'd see the 26-year-old play before the February trade deadline.

Less than 24 hours later, Frank Vogel confirmed that Nunn won't be suiting up any time soon because of a setback in his recovery. As Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reported, Nunn's knee didn't respond well after the team increased his workload as of late.

There was no clear timetable given for Kendrick Nunn's delayed return, but it is safe to expect Lakers fans won't see him in the next three weeks or so.

LeBron James and the Lakers have lost three straight games now and fallen out of the playoff picture at 21-22. The King himself has apologized to the fans for their recent play and vowed to do better, but he alone can only do so much.

It remains to be seen how Rob Pelinka and co. will handle the injury woes, especially with the Lakers facing another threat of missing the postseason. It is clear they need to make moves, but considering the limited assets they have, the options are also not that much.
