Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. recently pulled off a rare pair from his shoe collection after he was seen rocking the Nike LeBron 7 ‘MVP' in one of their games. It eventually caught the attention of his former teammate in Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James who gave him a shoutout on Twitter.

The Nike LeBron 7s was originally released back in 2010 when James was still in his first stint with the Cavaliers. After a decade, Nike decided to bring back ‘retros' or older models of the sneaker line for the younger generation, which included the ‘MVP' colorway.

It resembled the Wine and Gold colors of the Cavaliers and was released to commemorate LeBron James' second-straight MVP plum back in 2010. The colorways of his other sneakers also pay homage to his various on-court achievements and other elements that symbolize the events that inspired him on his basketball journey.

Through the years, James' sneakers became one of the most sought-after pairs under the Nike brand, garnering significant attention from hoopers all around the world. 11 years later, the sneaker line of the four-time NBA MVP rapidly expanded with new models being released year-in and year-out, with the latest silhouette being the LeBron 18.

Despite matching up on the opposite ends of the floor, many of the younger players still opt to wear the signature pairs of marquee players like LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kevin Durant, among others.

It resembled how the basketball sneakers of Nike were able to inspire the younger generation and became a big part of their own journey in playing the game of basketball growing up.
