LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has responded to Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson's comments about him seemingly doing ‘too much' for the purple and gold squad.

Per Mike Trudell of nba.com, James acknowledged that he understands the logic behind Bryant and Johnson's comments. He knows that the franchise wants to develop its younger guys as they are the future of the team. However, James believes that the two know what his role is in the team. The Lakers' young core will be there and will get better thru time, but when it's time to take over, James is ready.

“I mean, Magic and Kobe know who I am. I know who I am. They know what they’re going to get outta me. You know what you’re going to get out of me, every game. Am I going to play well every game, am I going to shoot the ball well? No, but you know who I am, and when it’s really, really, really money time, you know who’s going to be there.”

Through the first 23 games, James is averaging 27.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in a career-low 34.7 minutes per game. Yet whether he's playing 30 minutes or 40 minutes, LeBron James knows what he signed up for. And he's prepared to play every single minute if needed.

“You guys asked me the other day like, ‘Do you feel better after playing 30 minutes compared (to) if you played 40 minutes.’ No. I work myself all year round to get in tip top shape all year round. I don’t stop. I can do whatever. I mean, I played a Game 7 in the Finals and I damn near played every minute of it. Last year I played every single game. You can kinda slice it how you want it.”

LeBron James has been through every imaginable scenario and he wants everyone to know he's prepared to take on anything.
