LeBron James sounds pretty enthusiastic about the young corps he's joining on the Los Angeles Lakers. More specifically, James believes in the mercurial Lonzo Ball.

James says of Ball:

“He's destined for greatness, I believe.”

Greatness isn't one of those words that LeBron tosses around very often. He's constantly striving for greatness and it's telling that he speaks so highly of Ball at this early stage in his career.

Ball's streaky, if not poor, shooting last season had many declaring the second overall pick a bust before he even turned 20. James clearly sees something else in Ball's game. Lonzo is a high-IQ player with incredible court vision and a natural feel for the game.

It will be interesting to see James and Ball share the floor together because they have somewhat similar playing styles. They are both best with the ball in their hands and while James has become a consistent threat from the outside, Ball still needs to get there. Both guys love to thread the needle with their passes and keep their teammates involved and engaged in the offense.

It will be fun to watch Ball learn from James and continue to develop his game. If he is truly destined for greatness, fans will get to see flashes of that greatness this season. It may be too much to expect everything to come together for Lonzo this season, but his game should continue to grow.

James knows a thing or two about greatness and if you believe him, Lonzo is already on a similar path.
