LeBron James sent shockwaves throughout the basketball world on Saturday after it was revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was going to make a surprise appearance in the Drew League. In true LeBron fashion, The King dominated the contest, as he almost single-handedly injected some enthusiasm into the NBA offseason.

After his epic performance, LeBron sent a special shoutout to the Drew League as well as to all the fans that were in attendance:

LeBron led his team to victory behind a 42-point, 16-rebound performance. James looked like he was in mid-season form already, and incidentally, he also brought his elite referee negotiation skills with him to the glorified exhibition game.

LeBron teamed up with Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan in this one, who himself delivered an eye-popping display as well. The five-time All-Star finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds, which also prompted a special message from James:

LeBron clearly had a lot of fun in this one, and this will without a doubt go down in Drew League history as one memorable occasion. It's the first time LeBron James has suited up for the Los Angeles-based league since 2011, so it's definitely great to see him make a surprise appearance more than a decade later.

If this is a preview of what we should expect from LeBron this coming season, then the rest of the NBA better be ready. Yeah, I know he was playing against a bunch of amateurs, but still, there aren't too many negative things you can say about this performance.
