Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is using a baseball analogy to describe how he's feeling healthwise with the second half of the season starting on Thursday.

James, who missed over a month of action after suffering a left groin strain on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors, says he's rounding third and heading for home:

The Lakers host the Houston Rockets on Thursday to open up what is going to be an important second half of the season. Los Angeles is currently 28-29 on the season, 10th place in the Western Conference standings. They are three games back of the Clippers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.

LeBron James played 27 minutes in the All-Star Game and finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists. He looked explosive, which is a good sign for the Lakers.

In his first season in Los Angeles, James is averaging 26.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from beyond the arc. The King hasn't missed the playoffs since his second season in the NBA. If the Lakers don't get it together quickly, LeBron's first year in LA is going to be deemed a disaster.
