After yet another poor shooting performance on Wednesday night versus the Philadelphia 76ers, Lonzo Ball found himself on the sidelines for the final 14 minutes of the game, as he was benched by head coach Luke Walton. The Los Angeles Lakers rookie was only able to make 1-of-9 shots from the field for two points, including 0-of-6 from beyond the arc, to go along with five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes.

That said, Ball reportedly went back to the team's practice facility after the game to put in some extra work, according to ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward. Walton himself confirmed the development, which shows how much the former UCLA star wants to end his shooting slump the soonest.

This is definitely good news for the Lakers, as Ball is very dedicated to improving himself, and his game. While his teammates made their way home late in the night, he decided not to waste time in addressing his opportunities, to try and see if there will be some noticeable changes in their next game.

The Lakers will return to action on Friday against the Phoenix Suns, and it will be very interesting to see if Ball will shoot better, and if he will be given the minutes to finish the game. Should he play better on the night, he will regain the confidence of his coach, and should be able to receive the normal amount of playing time once again, and get shots he usually attempts.
