Although Jeffrey Carroll did not hear his name called in last month’s NBA Draft, he still managed to secure a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, who signed the Oklahoma State product to an undisclosed contract, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

Carroll is the second undrafted free agent that the Lakers have signed since Wednesday, as the team also inked former North Carolina Tar Heels star Joel Berry II to a deal. While the Lakers did not reveal the specifics of the framework of Carroll’s contract, it was previously reported by Michael Scotto of The Athletic that the deal would fall under the Exhibit 10 category.

A player who signs an Exhibit 10 contract guarantees him of money if the he is cut and signed by that same franchise’s G League affiliate.

Here’s a Bobby Marks of ESPN with a better breakdown:

A player who is signed to a contract with an Exhibit 10 will receive a bonus up to $50,000 if he signs a contract with the team’s G-League affiliate upon being waived from the parent club.

However, there is a catch. A player waived by Oct. 17 must report to his G-League affiliate by Oct. 20 and remain there for at least 60 days to receive the bonus (in addition to the G-League salary).

In four years in Stillwater, Jeffrey Carroll averaged 12.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 118 games.

The Cowboys were among the snubs of the last NCAA Tournament, taking away an opportunity for Carroll to shine under the bright lights of March Madness, but he did have a good performance in the NIT in which he scored 17.6 points in three games.
