Luke Walton is heavily favored to be fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers before the start of next season.
BetOnline.ag has set the odds of Walton being the Lakers' head coach for opening night in 2019 at +1000.
Los Angeles is going to miss the playoffs this season, the first year of the LeBron James era. Walton and Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson had a heated meeting earlier in the season after Los Angeles got off to a slow start.
The roster Magic and general manager Rob Pelinka gave Luke Walton wasn't good in terms of surrounding James with shooting, but Walton made a lot of questionable decisions this season, particularly how he handled the playing rotation.

Walton was hired by the Lakers in 2016. Entering Tuesday, he has gone 96-145.
Los Angeles will try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis again in the summer. The Lakers will also pursue max free agents to get another superstar on the team next to LeBron.
An improved roster and a healthy James should bode well for the Purple and Gold next season. We'll see if Walton will be around to experience it.
