The Los Angeles Lakers are playing with fun, and head coach Luke Walton can't be more satisfied with what he has seen from his team in their past few games.

With the pressure of making the playoffs gone, the Lakers are playing more freely now. The increased expectations hounded the team throughout the season, and it's noticeable that they started to win games after they were officially eliminated from postseason contention by the Brooklyn Nets last week.

The Purple and Gold have won three of their last four games, with the latest a 129-115 victory over a playoff-dreaming Charlotte Hornets side.

After the match, Walton expressed his delight with how the team is playing, adding that it's a “privilege and honor” to coach a squad that shows basketball is meant to be played with joy.

Luke Walton has consistently emphasized throughout the 2018-19 campaign that the Lakers needs to have fun. Even second-year forward Kyle Kuzma is a strong proponent of it, repeatedly saying they should feel joy when playing.

While it has been far from a “fun” season for the Lakers, the team is looking to finish strong in hopes of building momentum for the offseason and for the 2019-20 campaign.

The franchise is looking to make waves in the offseason — through free agency and trade — and it surely helps that they are showing the rest of the league they are a “fun” team who has championship aspirations.
