Joe Biden and Kamala Harris edged out incumbent President Donald Trump and his running mate Mike Pence in the 2020 United States election. The winning duo held a victory speech on Saturday in Wilmington, Delaware, marking their first appearance since their historic win. Of course, like he always does, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson sent his congratulations to Biden and Harris and issued a statement on the speeches of the two newly elected leaders.

Johnson called Biden's address “the best speech” he has ever heard from the former vice president under the Barack Obama administration. The president-elect focused on a theme of togetherness and healing, as he called on Trump supporters to unite in this time of need.

Meanwhile, the Lakers icon also had something to say about Harris' speech. The five-time NBA champ expressed how proud he is of the California Senator for empowering young Black girls and women of color all over the country with her statements on Saturday.

Harris, of course, became the first woman, first Black, and first person with South Asian decent to become vice president of the United States.

Magic Johnson previously shared he has been an avid supporter of Harris throughout her political career. The Lakers great added that he, along with his family, have worked with on multiple fundraising projects and have even welcomed the Oakland-native into their home.

Johnson did not hold back his elation after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were declared winners of the historic 2020 United States election. Not only did his Biden-Harris tandem take victory, he also saw his Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers win their respective leagues in the NBA and the MLB.

How great it is to be Earvin Magic Johnson!
