Lakers’ Michael Beasley, other veterans had shouting match with Luke Walton

Michael Beasley, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are in all sorts of problems right now. From injuries, to inconsistent play, to losing streaks, to trade rumors. All this play a significant factor as to why the Lakers are out of the playoff picture, and after weeks of frustration, some of their players are seemingly fed up.

The Lakers lost 115-101 against the Golden State Warriors earlier tonight, their 12th defeat in 17 games. After the game, Walton called out some of the Laker veterans, and some of them didn’t like his approach.

Walton has been heavily criticized for the job he’s done with the Lakers so far. Although the team played without LeBron in 17 of their last 18 games, they have struggled win games, and even lost to cellar dwelling teams like the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This began rumors that Walton’s job as Lakers coach is already numbered. There are reports that LeBron’s camp has already informed the Lakers front office that they want a coaching change, and although team president Jeanie Buss remains a fan of Luke, things could change especially if the Lakers keep losing.

This recent incident between Walton and the veterans is a cause for concern, especially for a team that’s trying to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Lakers are looking to improve their roster by engaging in trade discussions ahead of the trade deadline.

But would replacing Luke be in their plans as well?
