Russell Westbrook did not have a great time facing off against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. The Los Angeles Lakers guard finished with just eight points on the evening and largely struggled in the 125-116 loss.

The Kings tormented Westbrook not just on the defensive end, but with their in-arena sound bites as they played the song “Cold As Ice” by Foreigner during warmups and for every missed shot. The Lakers star did indeed miss a lot of shots, connecting on just two of his 14 shot attempts for the game.

While it was all in good fun, Russell Westbrook apparently didn't notice them doing it at all. The Brodie had a rather savage response himself when informed of what was going on during the Lakers press conference.

The NBA, however, did take notice. According to Kings reporter Sean Cunningham, the “Cold As Ice” bit will no longer be used going forward.

As much fun as it was to see a visiting player like Russell Westbrook of the Lakers last night identified as the “Cold as Ice” player of the game, a source with the NBA tells me that the bit used by the Kings will not be allowed to continue.

Perhaps the league doesn't want arenas adding fuel to any on-court fire that could instigate an even bigger flare-up. Whatever the case may be, the Kings will have to think up for other ways to annoy opposing stars the next time around.
