On Monday, it would've been Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's birthday. On Tuesday, 8/24, it's Mamba Day.

The day recognizes Bryant wearing both the No. 8 and No. 24 for the Lakers throughout his storied, hall-of-fame career.

One of Bryant's longtime teammates and a favorite for Lakers fans, Pau Gasol, paid tribute to Kobe on Mamba Day.

Gasol kept it simple and sometimes that's the best route to go. His tweet has two separate images of Bryant combined into one. One side features Kobe wearing the number 8, the other is him in the number 24 Lakers jersey. Many have pointed out throughout the years that if you separated Kobe's career into his time wearing the No. 8 and then the No. 24, both resumes would be more than good enough to make the hall-of-fame.

Gasol played with Bryant and the Lakers from 2007-2014. He spent the most successful years of his career during that time, winning NBA titles in 2009 and 2010 as LA's true No. 2 option behind Bryant.

The two become super close friends and had quite the bond as Lakers teammates on and off the court and Gasol has gone above and beyond since Bryant's passing to be there for Kobe's family.

Kobe's passing is one that still seems unreal to many. Having back-to-back days (his birthday and then Mamba Day) to help celebrate his life helps some deal with what is still a legend that was taken way too soon.

Shoutout to Pau Gasol for helping to keep the legacy of Bryant live on on days like this one.
